Russell C. Platt, Co-founder and CEO
Russell C. Platt is a Co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Forum Partners and is based in London. He has over 30 years’ experience in real estate finance and investment in Europe and North America including a period as Managing Director of Morgan Stanley & Co. Russell founded and managed the global real estate department of Morgan Stanley Asset Management and was Director of the company’s real estate fund. Before founding Forum Partners, he was Managing Director of Security Capital Research & Management and President of JER Partners. Russell has a BA in economics from Williams College, Massachusetts, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Benjamin Morgan, Managing Director and General Counsel
Benjamin Morgan is a Managing Director, General Counsel based in London. Ben is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales. Prior to joining Forum Partners, Ben worked in the Corporate/M&A practice of Macfarlanes LLP, a leading London law firm, and has a broad range of international transactional experience across the capital structure, including cross-border public and private M&A, public and private equity, debt finance and restructuring. Ben obtained his BA from Cambridge University and completed his legal training qualifications at The College of Law and BPP in London.
Andrew Faulk, Managing Director and Head of Australia
Andrew Faulk is a Managing Director and Australian country head for Forum Partners. Previously Andrew was head of St. George Bank’s structured and institutional real estate, which originated and managed A$3.5 billion in senior and mezzanine loans across commercial and development property assets nationally. Prior to this Andrew practiced law with Weil Gotshal in London and Clayton Utz in Sydney. He was also previously a senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sydney, specializing in structured finance, transactions and restructures. Andrew holds bachelor degrees in Arts and Laws, Masters of Laws (Taxation) Masters of Applied Finance (Corporate Finance) and a Masters of Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a Member of the Law Society (NSW).
Joseph Huang, Managing Director and Head of China
Joseph Kun-sheng Huang is a Managing Director and Head of China. He has over 15 years’ experience in the real estate structured finance area in Asia, with a focus on China. Prior to joining Forum, Joseph was a Director of Strategic Investments and Commercial Real Estate at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai. He has also worked for Citigroup and Merrill Lynch underwriting NPL portfolios and also consulted for Jones Lang Lasalle on public and private development projects. Joseph holds a BA in land economics from Chengchi University in Taiwan and a MS in real estate development from Columbia University.
Noah Hopkins, Managing Director and Head of North America
Noah Hopkins is a Managing Director and head of North America. He has over 10 years of experience in real estate investment banking, M&A, corporate advisory and principal investing. Prior to joining Forum, he worked in JLL’s M&A, Strategic Advisory and Private Capital group. Previously, Noah worked at FBR Capital Markets & Co. focusing on private equity capital raising and formation capitalization transactions. Noah started his career in the principal investment group at Choice Hotels International focusing on select-service hotel transactions.
Edward Madden, Director
Edward Madden is a Director with Forum Partners, based in Hong Kong. Ed provides deal sourcing, execution and analysis for the Asian investment team. Previously he worked for Denison Funds Management where he had transactional execution and capital management responsibilities across real estate, financial and legal disciplines. Edward has also held roles at St George Bank in the Structured & Institutional Property Team as well as with Dubai’s Nakheel PJSC, one of the world’s largest real estate developers, where he was responsible for a USD16 billion asset portfolio. Edward holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Property Economics from the University of Technology Sydney.
Anna Makedon, Director, Investment Management & Finance
Anna Makedon is a Director, Investment Management & Finance based in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. Anna has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry of which seven were spent as an auditor for Deloitte. Prior to joining Forum, she was a CFO for Dunbar Capital, a fund of hedge funds. Anna has BS (magna cum laude) in Accounting from Brooklyn College CUNY and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Sici Cheng, Vice President
Sici Cheng is a Vice President in Forum Partners’ Hong Kong office. She was previously employed by KPMG as an analyst in the Corporate Finance Department’s advisory division. Sici graduated with honors from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a BS in risk management. Sici is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Serena Shin, Associate
Anastasia Englebrecht, Analyst
Anastasia Englebrecht is an Analyst based in Sydney. Ana provides deal sourcing, execution and analysis for Australian investments. She holds a bachelor degree in Business as well as a Masters of Finance from the University of Technology Sydney.
JulieAnn Villanueva-Barela, Director of Finance
JulieAnn Villanueva-Barela is a Director and the Firm Controller in Forum Partners’ office in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Julie has primary responsibility for the firm’s accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining, she spent six years with the accounting firm Neff & Ricci LLP, most recently as an Audit Manager. She has a BA (cum laude) in business administration from the University of New Mexico. While at UNM, she was an intern in the university’s internal audit function. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the AICPA.
